Privacy Policy
The short version: SmarterPhone keeps everything on your phone. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking inside the app. We never see your data. The one thing the app sends anywhere is your rough location, to a weather service, so it can show the temperature, sunrise and sunset.
Who we are
SmarterPhone is an Android home screen (launcher) made by Hosam Hassan. Questions about this policy: hello@smarterphone.co.
What the app reads, and why
Each of these is optional and only used after you allow it in SmarterPhone settings or Android settings. Everything is read and stored on your phone only.

What leaves your phone
Only your approximate location (rounded, not precise GPS) is sent to Open-Meteo, a free weather service, to get the temperature, sunrise and sunset. It's sent without your name or any account, and SmarterPhone doesn't send it to anyone else. Open-Meteo's own privacy policy applies to that request.
Nothing else is sent anywhere. SmarterPhone has no servers that receive your data, and it doesn't sell, share or transfer data to anyone.
Health Connect
SmarterPhone reads steps and total calories burned from Health Connect, only to show them to you on Home and in Insights. It doesn't write health data, and it doesn't use health data for advertising or share it with anyone.
The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long it's kept
Your daily history is kept on your phone so Insights can compare days. It stays until you delete it or uninstall SmarterPhone.
Your choices
- Export: SmarterPhone settings → Your data → Export your data saves everything as a zip file you can keep.
- Delete: SmarterPhone settings → Your data → Delete all data erases everything right away. Uninstalling the app also deletes it.
- Turn access off: you can withdraw any permission at any time in Android settings. The parts of the app that need it simply stop showing that information.
Children
SmarterPhone isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
